Fall Geometric Nails 2025: Modern Designs, Art Lines & Bold Abstract Styles

Fall Geometric Nails 2025: Modern Designs, Art Lines & Bold Abstract Styles

Fresh air, yellow leaves, and that slight desire to mix things up: is fall not the time when all of us want to have a new detail in our style? Perhaps you are already cycling through your wardrobe, taking out your comfy knits and leather boots, but what about your nails? Fall 2025 is the season of geometric art in manicures: lines, contrasts, and shapes that are as daring as the season itself. The question is: which design will address your mood the best?

Bold Angles in Autumn Tones

Sharp geometry has a certain magnetism when the leaves begin to turn. This style combines the deep green, fire-red and golden yellow in a sharp angular shape, which is made palatable with a nude base that makes the entire style wearable in daily life. It is contemporary but not in your face like a fall coat that has a surprise lining.

Fall Geometric Nails 2025 Bold Angles in Autumn Tones

To attain this kind of effect, I would start with a sheer nude gel base. To get that popping fall color, OPI has their own Big Apple Red, Essie has their Hay There, and Olive & June has Into the Trees. The crisp triangles are best brought out by a long square nail shape.

Striping tape has been my best friend when I have attempted similar designs at home striping tape keeps those diagonal cuts clean and professional looking. To avoid bleeding of the polish under the tape, celebrity nail artist Betina Goldstein frequently advises that the polish be applied in several thin layers instead of a single thick coat. She’s right — patience pays off here.

I personally adore this style because it is playful yet a little bit edgy. I have worn my sharp, colorful geometric nails every time and someone has always stopped me in a coffee shop and asked me where I did that. It is as much a conversation starter as a style choice.

Matte Geometry with Retro Vibes

The mood is changed here: muted turquoise, mustard yellow, and terracotta are united in soft matte textures with black lines, which remind me of Mondrian paintings. It feels graphic yet approachable, retro but not costume-like. Perfect for sweater season.

Fall Geometric Nails 2025 Matte Geometry with Retro Vibes

To do this, I would apply matte topcoats, a classic is Essie Matte About You, to mute the shine and create that velvety look. The Sahara and Marigold colors by Zoya are also perfect complements to teal polish, such as Orly Teal Unreal. The separating black lines are best painted with thin art brushes or a fine-tip gel pen.

The process is stacked though easy to handle: paint your base color, cure, mask some areas, and then apply some contrasting colors carefully. Once it dries, use black gel liner to create such sharp lines of parting. Nail artist Jin Soon Choi is among the many pros who insist on sealing it with a matte finish to complete the overall effect.

Last fall, when I wore something like this, I wore chunky gold jewelry and oversized knits with it- it was almost like a mini wearable abstract sculpture on my hands. To be quite frank, these are the type of nails that make you look a bit more fashionable when sipping your latte.

Playful Pop Color Triangles

There is nothing like clashing brights on top of soft pastels to say, I am all set to have fall fun. This pattern is a game of triangles and diagons in neon orange, bubblegum pink, cobalt blue and apple green. The result? A manicure that is a cross between street style and candy shop.

Fall Geometric Nails 2025 Playful Pop Color Triangles

To do this, I prefer to combine neon polishes, and my favorite are Orly in Glowstick orange and China Glaze in Bottoms Up pink. Throw in a creamy mint color such as Essie Mint Candy Apple and you have that striking combination.

To do this yourself, use your nude or pale pink base, then tape off the sections with nail vinyls or painter tape. Alternate applying bright colors in triangular sections. Wait until every bit is dry before you move the tape or you will smear those nice lines.

I recall being similarly palette-ed to a fall music festival and, yes, my nails were photographed better than the outfit. It has something to do with the audacious geometry in unexpected color that makes your hands feel alive, even though the days are getting shorter.

Abstract Circles and Color Blocking

Then it gets funky: thick circles, stripes, and thick blocks of teal, orange, pink, and cobalt. One spiral shape is an attention grabber, and the other nails have large, clean shapes to balance. It is daring yet not excessive, ideal when you need to make a statement this season.

Fall Geometric Nails 2025 Abstract Circles and Color Blocking

I would use brights such as OPI No Room for the Blues, Essie Tangerine Tease and a neon pink striping gel to contrast the polishes. Black accents give depth and definition. A dotting tool is a godsend in getting those concentric circles without straining the freehand.

The trick in this is layering: place your biggest shapes, cure, then add tiny details on top. Pros such as Julie Kandalec tend to remind their clients that art does not have to be perfect, the flaws make it more artistic. That advice makes this look accessible, even for beginners.

These nails are a mood board I can wear. I think of them as mischievous, off-key feel of street fairs in the fall, sloppy, wild, and without apology.

Striped Spectrum Minimalism

And lastly, stripes in all the colors of the rainbow, but smoothed out into neat, straight, vertical lines that make the nails appear longer. It’s minimal in concept but maximal in effect. On a neutral ground, the stripes are as bright as colored pencils on a white sheet of paper.

Fall Geometric Nails 2025 Striped Spectrum Minimalism

In this design, striping brushes or nail art tape are a must. I’d suggest using a mix of Sally Hansen’s Insta-Dri shades (they dry quickly and reduce smudges), layering purples, greens, pinks, and yellows. In this case, a shiny topcoat will be necessary to ensure that the stripe appear sealed and professional.

The simplest way to do this is to do one stripe at a time, allowing it to dry before starting the next. Most nail technicians have advised that one should start with the darkest shades and then apply lighter shades to prevent the muddiness of overlapping.

Whenever I have striped nails, I have noticed that they go perfectly with the most basic fall outfits black turtlenecks, denim, even sweats. They are evidence that even a simple design can be happy and that often less is more.

Striking Yellow and Black Contrast

This design is daring with a high-gloss black and bright yellow divided in the middle of each nail. The appearance is unapologetic and vibrant, almost like a fall jacket that helps you stand out in the crowd. The contrast between the glossy finishes and the geometric accuracy makes something strong but comfortable to wear.

Fall Geometric Nails 2025 Striking Yellow and Black Contrast

To re-create this type of sharp two-tone I would suggest using OPI Black Onyx and Essie Sunshine State of Mind to achieve that striking yellow. The square nail shape works so well to enhance the symmetry. You will also require nail vinyls or striping tape to get that sharp dividing lines without streaks.

The most effective way is to paint the lighter one on first, allow to dry, and then cover half the nail with a masking tape before applying the darker color. Celebrity nail tech Tom Bachik can be heard numerous times talking about thin coats and allowing layers to cure before adding another coat, which is particularly important with high-pigment shades such as these.

I have used similar looks as nights out during fall and honestly these nails are impossible to miss. The combination of dark black with yellow sunshine is bold, and this is very attractive. Nails are the ones that can make the whole outfit look purposeful sometimes.

Monochrome Elegance in Black and White

Black and white are a classic combination, and this design is no exception, the central oval of jet black is framed by a neat white border. It is smooth, graphic and feels just right to wear on crisp autumn days when wardrobes lean toward cozy neutrals.

Fall Geometric Nails 2025 Monochrome Elegance in Black and White

In this, Essie’s Licorice is the inky depth, and OPI Alpine Snow makes the borders pop. A glossy gel topcoat is essential here to make that contrast between the light and dark seamless. The elongation of the fingers and the design is further achieved by a long square or coffin shape nail.

At home, I would recommend painting the black oval first using a fine brush and letting it completely dry before painting the white outline around it. Professionals such as Jin Soon Choi recommend cleaning up edges with an angled brush dipped in acetone, a small tip that makes a huge difference.

Personally, I think this design looks like a fall equivalent of a tuxedo manicure: it is fancy enough to wear to a dinner party but casual enough to wear on a daily basis. Whenever I have worn monochrome nails, I have found them to lend a refined air to even the most unassuming of outfits.

Bright Tips in Candy Shades

This style is all about injecting playfulness into fall. What you won’t find are muted colors; you will find neon-bright French tips in fire red, hot pink, neon orange and lavender purple. The nude foundation is the one that keeps everything down to earth, yet the tips are the ones that give a jolt of happiness. It is somewhat naughty, like you are smuggling summer into fall.

Fall Geometric Nails 2025 Bright Tips in Candy Shades

To ensure that this ensemble blends seamlessly, it is better to start with using sheer foundation product in pink or beige like Essie “Mademoiselle.” To do the tips, use OPI Big Apple Red, Orly plastic jungle, Essie Play Date, and Orly tropical pop. In case you do not go to a salon, using a French tip brush will facilitate the process of painting.

The best method is to hand paint each tip but clean the edges using a fine brush to be precise. Nail specialists tend to suggest covering the tips with an additional coat of topcoat, as bright colors can chip more easily than neutral ones.

I like this look because it is the perfect conversation piece. I once tottered about in a similar model to a random coffee date and the barista could tell me what salon I went to without me telling him. This is the beauty of playful tips they are easy but exude creativeness.

Sharp Lines in White and Orange

Sleek almond nails take on geometric power with a thick line of white bordered with fiery orange to give a look that is both modern and seasonal. It is spare in color but full in impact, ideal in fall when the turning leaves reflect in orange accents.

Fall Geometric Nails 2025 Sharp Lines in White and Orange

To do this I would use OPI Funny Bunny – white and Atomic Orange for that bright stripe. A striping brush is a must to paint the elongated vertical lines accurately. Almond nails make the hands longer and the design even sharper.

These are quite simple to follow: simply apply the white base, then using a striping brush, dipped in orange polish, create vertical lines that go all the way to the tip. It is not uncommon to find nail artist Julie Kandalec recommending that you practice on a plastic surface before attempting the nail itself, as it helps stabilise the hand and will help make the work much cleaner.

I have donned different versions of this outfit in fall parties and it still has the feel of being new and on-trend. The light color scheme goes so well with leather jackets and thick scarves, which is why it is a seasonal favorite without being excessive.

Fall Geometric Nails 2025: Modern Designs, Art Lines & Bold Abstract Styles

Playful Overlapping Shapes

Here, the design is softer as the arcs of yellow, red, green, blue, and pink overlap to create a colorful mosaic effect. It is geometric and fluid, abstract and cheerful, stained glass with a playful twist. The rounded short nails make the look especially approachable.

Fall Geometric Nails 2025 Playful Overlapping Shapes

Pastels combined with brights on the nail are essential to this appearance, such as Essie in Mint Candy Apple and OPI in Cajun Shrimp, Sally Hansen in Mellow Yellow, and a sky blue, like Zoya in Blu. A glossy topcoat unites all the layers and does not allow the colors to look flat.

To make the overlapping shapes, I would paint each arc separately, letting them completely dry before putting the next layer. Nail pros also recommend semi-sheer polishes when you want to layer your nails as they will produce the translucent effect where colors overlap.

I, personally, adore the way this design is playful but not childish. Abstract patterns on short nails always made me feel quite artsy as though I was carrying a mini-gallery on my hands. They are particularly fun in fall when we all need some color against the grays of the season.

Colorful Checkered Mosaics

The design is full of fun energy: small multicolored squares in pink, yellow, blue, and red move on the nails like a digital pattern of pixels. One accent nail in clean white and a central square in black anchors the entire ensemble down, providing the eye with a landing pad. It plays and it is restrained – like art that is not too serious, yet not ignoring symmetry.

Fall Geometric Nails 2025 Colorful Checkered Mosaics

To do this, I would use a palette of bright lacquers: OPI Pink Flamenco, Essie Butler Please, Zoya Pippa yellow and a classic red such as Chanel Pirate. Black and white gels bring the structure. A super-fine detail brush is necessary in this case to paint the small squares with accuracy.

The technique is to begin by applying lighter base tones and then divide small squares using a fine liner brush. It is a slow job to fill every square, but well worth it. Nail professionals also recommend gel polish on this kind of detailed work because it will not dry until cured, leaving you ample time to perfect the details.

I love the way this design is like wearable modern art. When I first spotted a checkered manicure, I was reminded of old-fashioned board games, but this modernized, colorful take on it is new and ideal for fall collections. It is the type of nail art that will certainly leave friends wondering how you managed to do it.

Checkerboard with Black Accents

This style goes even further with the checkered appearance by matching colorful grids with deep and glossy black nails. The combination of bright pinks, blues, yellows, and reds on solid black produce a striking contrast that is ideal to anyone who hates imbalance between playful and edgy. It is a fall-appropriate blend that is simultaneously graphic and wearable.

Fall Geometric Nails 2025 Checkerboard with Black Accents

I would suggest using the same bright palette that you used previously OPI and Essie have some amazing neon-leaning colors, but with a shiny black gel such as Essie on the solid nails. The color grid is even more visible with a glossy topcoat that fixes the shine.

And this, step by step, will involve alternating nails: some painted black, others, with colorful grids. Ultra-fine brushes or striping tape are used to maintain the squares in line. Nail artist Betina Goldstein frequently stresses symmetry when dealing with patterns, which implies not rushing to put the lines.

Personally, I find this look both powerful and playful. Combining bright black nails with fancy grids is like having a cake and eating it too: a slight sense of rebelliousness, and a touch of artistry. This is ideal on cold nights when you need your nails to be as vibrant as your clothes.

Green and Black Striped Minimalism

In this case, we see a different direction toward smaller nails with a more neutral palette: shiny black and neon green, and an accent nail with stripes that combine them with clean white. It is daring but not complex, and it shows that you do not have to have elaborate designs on each finger in order to make a bold statement.

Fall Geometric Nails 2025 Green and Black Striped Minimalism

To this, Essie Licorice brings the black base and Orly glowstick neon green brings that electric feeling. The accent stripes are neat and uniform using a striping brush or thin nail tape. White gel polish neutralizes all the elements and gives a sharpness to the pattern.

I would mix and match the nails between solid colors and the striped pattern to achieve the look. With the stripes, a green base, then cure, tape off horizontal strips and fill with alternating black and white. The trick, the professionals say, is to take your time with stripes; almost any time you rush through them you end up with wobbly lines.

I love this because it feels effortlessly cool. I think it makes me think of urban streetwear in fall: simple, dramatic, and unabashedly contemporary. each time I have worn black-and-green mixtures they have also afforded me an added confidence, as though I have been wearing a neon accent in my style.

Diagonal Green Geometry

This design brings out almond nails in neon green and black lines on nude base. The diagonal lines and overlapping stripes make the nails look futuristic, almost neon lights being cut across a dull background. It is edgy yet chic, ideal to wear out on the town or at a fall fashion show.

Fall Geometric Nails 2025 Diagonal Green Geometry

OPI Put It in Neutral is a fantastic foundation to recreate this. Combine it with the neon glowstick by Orly and Essie Licorice to add the geometric details. Striping brush is an essential tool to maintaining the lines clean, particularly when the stripes are overlapped.

The method is purely an angle technique: paint the green tips, cure, and then apply the black stripes at various angles. This creates depth and interest. Often, nail artist Julie Kandalec recommends creating contrast by juxtaposing neons with neutrals and this design is a textbook example of why it works.

For me, this manicure feels bold yet refined. I wouldn?t wear it daily, but it has that wow factor to wear to special fall events. It is as though it is nails to be photographed in the city lights.

Turquoise Grid Precision

This design is inspired by the contemporary art, with sharp black lines dividing a naked background, which is interjected by turquoise color blocks. It is geometric, graphic and sharp with every nail resembling a mini abstract painting. Perfect for fall when clean lines dominate fashion.

Fall Geometric Nails 2025 Turquoise Grid Precision

To this, a smooth nude base can be done with Essie in Blanc or OPI Put It in Neutral. Throw in some turquoise color such as Zoya nail polish in Wednesday, a jet black liner gel for structural lines. Square nails are the most suitable here as they would highlight the grid-like effect.

To paint this at home I would suggest doing the base nude first and taping off areas to paint the turquoise. Subsequently, the black lines must be drawn with a fine brush or a nail art pen. Jin Soon Choi is one of the pros who suggest sealing these structured designs with two coats of topcoat- they prevent lines lifting or smudging.

I consider this manicure as the fashion week nail. Clean but strong, it is in its element with smooth coats and geometric jewelry. When I wear grid nails, I feel crisper, more polished, as though I have a secret detail only design cognoscenti will get.

Sharp Contrast in Red and White

In this manicure, there is a heavy combination of red, nude, and white with a clean black outline. The almond shape enhances the femininity, and the geometrical parts provide the entire appearance with a contemporary architectural character. The angular shapes make the nails look like miniature artworks, and I like that they are very chic but wearable.

Fall Geometric Nails 2025 Sharp Contrast in Red and White

To recreate something similar, I’d reach for a true red like OPI’s Big Apple Red, a crisp white such as Essie Blanc, and a nude base coat with full coverage (think Zoya in Loretta). This is where a fine nail art brush or striping tape comes in, particularly those clean black dividing lines, I would suggest using Orly Instant Artist in Jet Black.

In segments, I would begin with the nude base, followed by the triangles and block areas marked out using tape and finally the red and white filled in. When dry, the black lines should be added to give sharpness, and a glossy topcoat applied. According to celebrity nail artist Betina Goldstein, who frequently tells her clients that lines make nails disciplined, this is an ideal design.

Personally, I find this look striking yet versatile. It is daring enough to go with a red lip in the evening, but clean enough to wear to work. When I wear designs such as this, I always get asked whether it is a wrap or stickers, which is such a compliment to clean line work.

Diagonal Layers of Red, Black, and White

The mood changes here – diagonal stripes in layers of red, black, and white make an impression of dynamics, sporty effect. The almond shape makes it feminine, yet the bands of color add actual energy. It is like movement suspended in time and it is just right to read it during autumn days when all of us are buzzing with new plans.

Fall Geometric Nails 2025 Diagonal Layers of Red, Black, and White

To this, I would recommend depth with sheer gels: CND Shellac Wildfire on the red, Gelish Arctic Freeze on the white and OPI Black Onyx on the black accent. Striping tape is a savior once again, making sure those diagonals are clean and professional.

I would use the base nude, then I would tape it at various angles depending on the band of color. The polish is not bleeding in layers when working in layers as it adds richness to the design. Jin Soon Choi, a celebrity manicurist, has once said, Diagonal lines make the nail appear longer and I couldn,t agree more as these nails look longer than they are.

The last time, I tried a similar look last fall, I realized it matched perfectly with chunky sweaters. It is something about the stark red-and-black combination that holds its own against the autumn fabrics of wool and leather. It’s definitely a power manicure.

Edgy Angular Drama

This design goes even further into sharp geometrical ideas: long, coffin-shaped nails divided into sharp triangles in red, white and black. Its style is daring, bordered on futuristic, just right for a person who does not hesitate to make their nails the centerpiece.

Fall Geometric Nails 2025 Edgy Angular Drama

I would choose high-pigment polishes here such as Smith & Cult Kundalini Hustle to do the red, a thick white such as OPI Alpine Snow, and the darkest jet black you can find as the Chanel Le Vernis in Pure Black would be lovely. Gels work best in this length and detail because they are difficult to chip.

The art of the look is all about accuracy: covering triangle areas using ultra-thin brushes. Nail artist Hang Nguyen is one who constantly discusses the importance of negative space being sharp to create balance in big designs, and this is certainly the case here.

I find this look incredibly statement-making. I feel like when I wear longer, more dramatic lines, I tend to use my hands in a different way, with a purpose, with a delicacy. The nails make you move like they are controlling your moves.

Warm Tones with Golden Edges

Warm fall colors cannot be full without warm colors, and this manicure combines matte brick red with geometric accents in orange, gold, and white. The small dabs of glitter on the edges enhance the look, but do not dominate it like the fall leaves in sunlight.

Fall Geometric Nails 2025 Warm Tones with Golden Edges

Shades, I would take out OPI My Italian Is a Little Rusty, the brick matte, Essie Meet Me at Sunset, orange, and a gold glitter like China Glaze Counting Carats. This really is what makes it sing, the matte versus shimmer contrast.

I would use the matte base and then mark out those tiny geometric panels using tape and then overlay the brighter shades within. Pro tip: nail artists such as Tom Bachik add gold on edges to make what he calls frames, which brings attention to nail shape.

This one feels especially cozy to me. This is a look I wore at Thanksgiving last year and it looked so lovely with gold jewelry and a cup of mulled cider. It’s festive, but in a grown-up way.

Modern Mondrian Vibes

This collection is very contemporary gallery-like in its design with large blocks of orange, yellow, black and blue separated by thin black lines. Together with accent nails in solid orange and black, it is playful but classy. Think Piet Mondrian, but translated into fall color codes.

Fall Geometric Nails 2025 Modern Mondrian Vibes

To nail this look (pun intended), I’d use Essie Tangerine Tease for orange, Zoya Darcy for yellow, and a navy like OPI Yoga-ta Get This Blue. Those rectangular divisions are key, and clean striping tape will do the trick.

The best way to use the application is to paint blocks individually, remove tape fast when the polish is wet. It takes patience, but the result is worth it. The fashion editors frequently mention that highly geometric nails are rather successfully combined with minimalistic garments – to leave all the talking to the nails.

Personally, this one is my favorite from the batch. It is daring yet witty and it will always generate discussions. Just recently, when a friend was wearing this style, she was asked by someone whether it was influenced by her art degree, an idea of how much nails are tied to identity.

Classic Burgundy with Golden Stripes

This manicure looks like the epitome of fall elegance burgundy with bold diagonal stripes of white, black, and gold. The almond shape tames the intense colours, and the golden glitter is just enough to feel festive, without being overboard. It is the type of design that makes any outfit immediately look more chic and purposeful.

Fall Geometric Nails 2025 Classic Burgundy with Golden Stripes

To make this appearance, I would use Essie Bordeaux as a base to get that rich wine color. The white stripe is a favourite of mine, OPI Alpine Snow, and the black is Zoya Willa. The gold glitter stripe is possible to create with Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in Game of Chromes or a loose glitter powder pressed onto a clear gel to make it glossy. The secret is in the layering so that each color retains its edge.

I tend to put on striping tape after the burgundy has dried off, and then do alternate sections of painting, removing the tape as fast as I can without smudging. The real secret behind the geometric designs is patience and I totally agree with what nail pros say. Rushing through just never delivers the same clean finish.

Personally, I think this design is holiday-appropriate, but can be worn in everyday fall as well. It reminds me of wrapping paper ribbons, only in an adult way. When I do this color scheme, people seem to pay more attention to my rings as well, as though the manicure frames jewelry in a way.

Bold Yellow and Black Statement

This manicure is dramatic and playful at once, as matte black and yellow form a high-contrast palette. The web pattern on the accent nail is a fine line, which is just what you need to make this nail art pop — especially during fall festivals, Halloween, or that fearless energy yellow brings.

Fall Geometric Nails 2025 Bold Yellow and Black Statement

To become yellow, I would use China Glaze Happy Go Lucky or OPI Exotic Birds Do Not Tweet to get a bright finish. The matte black was given a little depth and contrast using Zoya Willa and a matte topcoat. A gel liner pen, or even a fine nail art brush, would help render the web-like pattern with consistent control.

It is easy, but you need a firm hand: apply alternating black and yellow nails, then sketch the accent by using thin lines emanating out of the corner, connecting them with curves. This is the sort of detail that nail artist Britney Tokyo specializes in: the suggestion that one nail tell the story.

I have always believed that black and yellow nails get people to stare more than any other combination. They are bold, daring and excellent with leathers or sporty street styles. Personally, I love how they channel confidence instantly.

Minimalist Yellow Geometry

This manicure shows the gentler side of yellow — with a nude base and simple black line work on one nail, and the rest solid, bold yellow. The contrast between lightheartedness and straightforwardness makes it highly wearable even in case you are usually reticent about such bright colors.

Fall Geometric Nails 2025 Minimalist Yellow Geometry

The yellow is reminding me of OPI Sun, Sea, and Sand in My Pants, a warm but not neon yellow. The nude is Essie Ballet Slippers and the black lines are easiest with a gel liner pen or even Orly Jet Black using a striping brush.

I would suggest painting the majority of nails yellow and leaving one nail with a nude base. After it dries, draw a line with fine liner across the nude nail in an intersecting pattern to create a clean, geometric design. This kind of design is best applied with a glossy topcoat to maximize the contrast.

Personally, I see this design as a mood lifter. Yellow on nails is like a bit of sunshine on the way to the fall season when days are shorter and darker. I wore something like this once on a trip in October, and I can not tell you how many times strangers said how cheerful it was.

Chevron Stripes in Autumn Tones

This nail art turns the classic chevron pattern into an autumn-appropriate color scheme of beige, black, and copper glitter. The almond-shaped nails are sharp and elegant and the repeating shape of the V lengthens the nails and adds a beautiful symmetry.

Fall Geometric Nails 2025 Chevron Stripes in Autumn Tones

To create the beige base, OPI Samoan Sand is an old-time classic. The black accent can be done using CND Vinylux Black Pool, and the copper glitter can be ILNP Clockwork, which has the right fiery color to be used in fall.

I would do this by painting the base then adding striping tape in angled “V” shapes to create the chevron pattern. The design is very striking because the black and glitter fill alternate sections and does not feel heavy. Manicurist Tom Bachik has often noted that glitter looks best when not done all the way up, but as an accent, and this design nails that sentiment.

It is one of those patterns that looks difficult but in reality feel very easy to do in the comfort of your home. I personally love the way it resembles knit sweater textures, there is something about the repetition of lines that screams fall coziness.

Playful Retro Color Blocking

This design takes a break with autumn solemnity and goes into playful retro color selection: matte green, lilac, and yellow in curving block forms on square nails. It is very fresh, almost retro, reminiscent to the 70s coloring, but updated using matte texture.

Fall Geometric Nails 2025 Playful Retro Color Blocking

I would use OPI How Does Your Zen Garden Grow? as the green, Essie Play Date as the lilac and Zoya Darcy as the yellow. And a matte topcoat is not an option, it is the fabric-like finish.

To do this, apply the polishes in layers, one at a time, in small sections to create the effect of opaque paint on the nails using a curved striping brush. The matte finish at the end completes the entire look. I think of this design as editorial nails that we can often see at the fashion week: they are bold, but with a wink.

Personally, I think this one is ideal to a person who does not want the usual fall colors. It is cheerful and nostalgic and would look great with a pair of jeans or streetwear. I experimented with similar pastel-matte combinations, and they immediately made my ensembles more playful.
